How do I buy CFR products?
CFR goes to market primarily through Janitorial Distribution. We believe a good CFR distributor is best suited to demonstrate, sell and provide after market service on all of our products. If your organization has a national or global presence and the desire to buy direct, CFR does have a very effective National Account buying program and we would be able to meet your needs.
Does CFR manufacture their own products or is this a private label import of some kind?
CFR engineers, designs, manufactures and markets all of our carpet cleaning machines in Fort Worth, Texas. We are American owned and operated and take extreme pride in our quality craftsmanship. We market our products worldwide.

How can you clean with recycled water?

It is important to understand that soil removal is the only measurement of cleaning effectiveness. If you cleaned an area and only removed 65% of the soil present, you wouldn’t define the results as quality cleaning, would you?

CFR environmental cleaning is substantially more effective at removing soil than any other cleaning system we know of. Due to the unique solution control system we get up to 95% recovery, which means cleaner carpets and faster dry times. Recycling is a consideration only after soil removal efficiency. Then the consideration is "how effectively are the soils filtered from the fluids prior to recycling." CFR’s unique system filters up to 95% of the removed soils prior to recycling and reuse of the cleaning fluids.
How often does the water have to be changed?

This varies depending on the soil load of the carpet. The CFR systems make it a simple process. Each system is equipped with an automatic pump shut-off that turns the system off when the water needs to be changed. However, here are some general guidelines:

Typical carpet soils every 3,500 – 4,000 sq. ft. or when the system requires the fifth water addition.

Heavy carpet soils every 1,500 – 2,000 sq. ft. or when the system requires the third water addition.
How much can you clean per hour?

As with all commercial equipment production varies with:

  • model
  • operator
  • soil level and type
  • cleaning obstructions
  • job size
  • operator experience
  • chemicals used

Field experience indicates these general productivity rates with the CFR system:

  • unobstructed maintenance 2,000 – 3,000 sq. ft. per hour
  • general commercial 1,500 – 2,000 sq. ft. per hour
  • residential 500 – 1,000 sq. ft. per hour
How does CFR perform on spots?

If soils are properly treated before removal with the CFR spotting kit, the majority of spots are easily removed. However, in the case of urine, the urine deposit should be treated with "enz-out" to decompose it prior to cleaning. Coffee, soda and similar spots provide a classic illustration of CFR’s cleaning effectiveness compared to competitive equipment. Competitive equipment often pushes the spot deeper only to have it reappear following cleaning. CFR thoroughly washes the spot out, removing it completely.

The amount of solids present in these stains (ie. sugar, dye, coffee, etc.) is very small, usually no more than 2%. When removed by CFR cleaning, any elements not retained by the filtration system are diluted at a minimum of 5,000 to 1 in the CFR fluid reservoir. Thus, these spots are not a consideration for redeposition, contamination or appearance.
Can I use other chemicals instead of CFR?

No, you should not.It’s like putting certain oils in a diesel engine…they aren’t designed for the job and they don’t work as well. CFR chemicals have been designed to recycle water and solution. Other non-recycling chemicals contain emulsifiers which allow dirt to pass through the filter, resulting in rapid resoiling. CFR chemicals are:

  • Highly concentrated and maintain full activity during repeated recycling passes.
  • Designed with built-in foam control, to ensure low foam levels, even at high concentrations.
  • Low in corrosiveness.
  • Designed with high concern for operator safety and low toxicity. No volatile organic compounds (VOC's).
  • Designed to be gentle on fabrics.

Competitive chemicals often are:

  • Not as safe, or as effective, and not designed for recycling.
  • Dependant on pH for detergency and lose efficiency as they encounter soils and because of high pH are more apt to cause browning.
  • High foaming which adversely affects the advantages of CFR cleaning.
  • Chlorinated solvents or other suspected carcinogens, (VOC's) which can be harmful to the operator and the environment or contain butyl cellosolve.
